Travis Mitchell: Travis Mitchell studied history and organic crop production at the University of Florida graduating in 2008, and began volunteering with Florida Organic Growers shortly thereafter. He spent a year as a volunteer with FOG before being hired as a part-time Volunteer Coordinator for our Gainesville Initiative for Tasty Gardens program (GIFT Gardens). The following year he began working for FOG full-time and spent a very busy year launching and managing the Alachua County Farmers Market EBT Project, helping co-found the urban gardening network called Grow Gainesville, managing the Downtown Farmers Garden and installing GIFT Gardens across Alachua County. Mitchell has installed gardens at over 90 locations across the county, and become the resident vegetable gardening expert at FOG, overseeing the GIFT Gardens program, teaching a variety of garden classes, and assisting with the management of several community and teaching gardens.
